small reflections

There’s an old photography quote ‘the best camera is the one you have with you’.
Meaning you can have the latest and greatest megapixel gadget but if you leave it home its not going to do much for your image making.
This has never been more true, as the vast majority of images that people upload and share daily come from their mobiles, cause that’s whats in their pockets or handbags.
There are many terrific images taken everyday on phones but if you want images that are better than cell phones can manage, a compact camera with a good lens and a wifi card is a great option. Camera companies are starting to make digital versions of the classic rangefinder cameras of the 1950’s and because of their smaller size they are an easy option to carry everyday to take those moments that need better recording than an phone can manage. the shot above was taken on a fuji x20, far from the best camera on the market but like the polaroid cameras of the 70’s there’s a lot to be said for simplicity and portability.
